Lower East Side Mold Remediation

Our SERVPRO crew arrived at a basement storage area in an apartment building in the Lower East Side to remediate a mold infestation. The Before Photo depicts the spots of mold growing on the cellulose floor joists and sheathing of the above unit. We contained the infested area with polyethylene sheeting and proceeded to use a technique called "dry-ice" blasting to abraid off the growth from the porous, raw wood surfaces. Our AMRT applied microbial remediation techs work in tandem, one feeds the hopper with dry ice pellets, while the second tech directs the pressured stream from the nozzles. The beauty of this method is no additional moisture is added to an environment that is already damp. The solid dry ice pellets sublimate directly to a gaseous state, and the air scrubbers use negative pressure to channel the captured airborne spores and particles to the outside.
